Dining at Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar restaurant - a review

One of the most highly rated dining places in Jaipur, Rajasthan is the Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar restaurant, known by its acronym LMB. It is on the ground floor of the hotel of the same name, but it is the restaurant and not the hotel itself which is well known and popular. In case you are trying to locate it, all you need to do is ask for LMB restaurant or LMB sweet shop and the locals will promptly know which place you are referring to.

LMB restaurant, Jaipur serves only vegetarian food. Whether you want to feast on local street food such as chaats and tikkis or have an elaborate traditional Rajasthani thali, come hungry to this place and leave with a satisfied burp! Don't forget, though, to keep some tummy space for the mouth watering sweet stuff from their mithai shop.

As one is seated with high expectations of feasting on good food, wwhat catches one's eye is the words on the Menu cover:

Recommended by most diners who have tried and tested the varied items on LMB's extensive menu are: Dal Bhati Churma, Paneer Ghewar. Kachoris, Sweet Lassi and Kulfi.

When we dined here one morning we had: Chaas, Pyaaz kachori, Aloo tikki, Aloo papri chaat, Mango milkshake. The pyaaz (onion) kachori and aloo (potato) tikki were substantially filling and delicious. It is advisable to wait to finish off your food before ordering the lassi / chaas, as it can be then quite an effort to finish off the tall glass!

A little note here - Chaas was one beverage we never got tired of having throughout our ten day vacation in various cities of Rajasthan. A very refreshing and cooling beverage indeed!
