Read on for some valuable tips...

Visiting Hong Kong Disneyland

Tips for tickets, facilities & attractions
1. Always check the timings of the Park on the day you are visiting. Do not assume that the same time applies on all days. If you are going to visit a particular section, say Toyland, then too you should check if it is open on that day. On certain days timings may vary as for example when fireworks displays are scheduled.

2. Some rides will have specific requirements, such as height & age.

3. Since there is plenty to see and 1 day is unlikely to be enough to tour the whole park with your kids begging to stay longer, it is a good idea to buy a 2-day ticket. Instead of buying a HK$399 ticket on 2 separate days, it works out cheaper to buy a HK$499 ticket (age 12-64) for a 2-day visit.
- Child Ticket (aged 3-11): HK$355
- Senior Ticket (aged 65 or above): HK$170
- Free admission for a child aged under 3 years.

Note: The 2-Day Tickets are valid on any 2 days within a 7-day period, except Designated Days. First visit must be on or before the last day of the validity period printed on the back of the ticket.

4. The easiest way to book tickets is online. You then just need to pick up your tickets at the venue (starting from 1 hour after online purchase). You can also buy tickets at:
(a) the Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Express, located at the MTR Hong Kong Station (Tung Chung Line Concourse), open from 9:00am - 8:00pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 9:00am - 5:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays ;
(b) Circle K outlets in Hong Kong
(c) Main Entrance Ticket Booths or Guest Relations Windows, open daily from 30 minutes before Park opening until Park closes.

5. Look out for freebies, such as a shopping bag with 2 Park tickets purchased at The Magic of Hong Kong Disneyland, located at Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport (9:00am to 9:00pm.) & at Avenue of Stars Kiosks in Tsim Sha Tsui (9:30am to 10:30pm.)

6. Large groups of 100 or more can call the Hong Kong Disneyland Group Sales Office at +852 3550-3369 for bulk booking of tickets.

7. It is a good idea to go in for the hotel stay-park ticket combo package. Saves you the headache of booking hotel rooms elsewhere! For this, bookings must be made by minimum of 2 persons. Certain dates may be blocked out for bookings, so check the website for this.

8. Check out the Disney FASTPASS, which reduces your waiting time at popular attractions. Only 1 FASTPASS at a time is allowed.

9. Facilities and services are available for visitors with special needs. You can take your own stroller into the Park, or take a rental one. Similarly, wheelchairs and service animals (must be on a leash) are permitted inside (except in Space Mountain). Tactile maps, audio guides and Braille guidebooks are available. There is even a baby dare care center.

10. Accommodation at Hong Kong Disneyland
  • Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel: 5- star hotel
  • Disney’s Hollywood Hotel: 4- star hotel
Some unique Hotel Features:
  • Phones have bedtime stories for children
  • Bed-time visit from Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse can be arranged for kids who can’t sleep!
  • Napkins are given as mementos to the guests. These are personally handcrafted by the hotel’s own staff. Theme-based napkins appear at such occasions like Christmas & the Chinese New Year.
11. Dining out at Hong Kong Disneyland
All sections of the park have food areas, so you & your kids will never be hungry! Look out for great offers on dining, such as the Disney Chef Mickey's Dinner Buffet in a Disney-themed restaurant or the high tea at Corner Café. Best of all, there is a 3-in-1 meal coupon for HK$178 at specified dining places which includes 1 lunch (for before 4p.m.), 1 dinner (for after 5.30p.m.) & 1 drink or popcorn.

12. What not to miss at Hong Kong Disneyland
  • Take a good look at the Mickey Mouse at the entrance of the park: it has been created from flowers, which change as per the season.
  • Try to find out hidden words, such as “Fort Emery” which forms the base of the Parachute Drop ride. (It refers to the home of Pixar, California).
  • Rides for Kids:
-Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blastes: You have to point your laser gun at targets to score points.
      - Small kids will love (a) the Jungle River Cruise & (b) sitting in a large honey pot-shaped cup to
        experience Winnie the Pooh’s adventures.
  •  Unique Rides for Adults: Rides for much older kids & adults is limited.
       - Space Mountain roller coaster is indoors & in dark surroundings, so adds to the thrill
       - RC Racer (located at Toy Story Land):
  • Toy Story Land: opened this year. A fun thing to do here is to join the Toy Soldier Boot Camp, do the drills & earn your stripes through tests. For those who love roller coaster rides, hop onto the RC Racer which goes at top speed & reaches up to 27 meters. Then there is the simulated parachute drop.
  •  Disney Parades: Not to be missed definitely! You will need to check the calendar at the official website to know the specific times of the parade, which starts at the Storybook Theatre's entrance.
