Travel Guide to Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden Surat Gujarat with entry ticket price and timings

A visit to the city of Surat in the State of Gujarat, India gives you the rare opportunity of enjoying a vast (and a I mean really, really, vast) expanse of open space that is lush with greenery meticulously laid out beneath the gorgeous blue dome above. The place referred to is the Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden in Surat which we visited last year in November. 

The image on the left reflects our sheer joy and heaps of satisfaction we got on our trip to this garden. Compliments to the Surat Municipal Corporation for maintaining it so well. 

Having checked out which places to visit, the Sneh Rashmi botanical garden was a definite destination on our itinerary. Mind you, this lovely garden is not exactly centrally located and it may take you a while to get to it. Believe me, though, it is definitely worth a visit, even though initially we felt it was a never-ending ride in the auto! On the way, we came across a couple of some really interesting urban sculptures. One was this at a round-about-

On arrival at the main gate of the garden, we were happy to see there were plenty of autos outside so it would be easy to get a ride back. There were also some vendors selling ice-cream, fruit juice, and snacks.

We bought our entry tickets at the little window and entered past the security guards' cabin. Since it was blazing hot that mid-afternoon, we were delighted to see the tracks across our path and headed in the direction of the ticket window for the toy train. Know all about that charming toy train.

What I would like to focus on here is the garden. It is home to many species of plants, both of the flowering and the herbal kind, some spaces even having unique exotic species. There are separate sections for some species, such as a dedicated Greenhouse just for a variety of cactus, another exclusively for bamboo, a third area demarcated like a mini-forest, and so on. Since we did not walk around but rode the train, I cannot really give a list of the variety of plants that have been so lovingly planted and cared for. During our visit we saw families relaxing with kids in the shady areas of the garden. There was also quite a few groups of photographers, one which seemed to be taking pre-wedding photos of a happy couple. There are also a variety of rides for kids in a separate fun zone section.

Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden Entry Ticket prices
At the ticket window, there is a Board in Gujarati with the entry ticket prices mentioned along with a few instructions. At the very top it is made clear that there is a single queue for both male and female visitors.

The Ticket prices are:
1. Children between 5 and 12 years: Rs.10/-.
2. Visitors above 12 years: Rs.20/-.
3. Visitors above 65: Rs.5/-.
4. For School students from primary to high school: Rs.5/-.

Charges for photography and videos
1. Plain camera: Rs.5/-.
2. Digital camera: Rs.100/-.
3. Videography: Rs.500/- per hour.
Note: Give the exact amount of the entry charge. It is mentioned that you should count the money before leaving the ticket window. Do not complain later.
