Traveller tips for visiting Mini Europe park in Brussels

The city of Brussels is the capital of Belgium and is often on the list of tour itineraries of tour packages for groups. A halt during the city tour is the well known Mini Europe park.

This is a charming outdoor theme park which has got miniature scaled models of the most famous landmarks of European countries. These include Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, castles and town squares, ports and political buildings, canals and wharfs, etc.

It is a good idea not to rush through the park tour as you may otherwise miss out on some of the general models in your focus on trying to photograph the more famous ones! For example, there is a cute Ferris wheel in one corner (see photo alongside).

So try to keep aside at least 2 full hours to really have a good look at everything. Another tip is to get tickets which will give you a combined tour of both the theme park as well as the Atomium located there, which showcases interesting exhibitions.

Another thing: don't get so carried away in taking photographs that you forget to enjoy the interactive activities of some of the models. You are likely to see kids queuing up to press the button which sets off Mount Vesuvius' volcanic eruptions or bring down the Berlin Wall with a crash. So bring out that child in you and enjoy it too!

Take a photographic tour:

1. La Grand-Place in Brussels - a cluster of buildings around an open square, it is simply known as Brussels Square.

2. Arc de Triomphe, France - it is located in Paris and is a monument which honours those who fought and died for the country during the French Revolution and the Napoleanic battles.

8. Arena with matador - this is one of the really unique models in the park - there are life-like miniature people seated in the stands, not to mention the matador and bull in the center.

Then there are charming canals of Amsterdam, gandolas of Venice, buildings perched precariously at the edge of a quay....lots and lots of interesting models to gawk at!

And, oh yes.... you might just miss the train going around or the slower moving cargo coaches or the miniature planes zooming on the airport tarmac...
