Staying at Chandra Imperial Hotel Jodhpur Rajasthan - a review

Planning a trip to Jodhpur, Rajasthan and looking for comfortable, inexpensive accommodation? 

 Check out this detailed review of  Chandra Imperial Hotel in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. 

 We stayed in this hotel in September last year and had a very satisfying experience. The room tariff is reasonable for the air-conditioned spacious room and the in-house restaurant serves good food.

Chandra Imperial Hotel is a modern hotel run very professionally. All staff, including those at the front desk, are very well-mannered, polite and helpful. 

 The location of the hotel is really convenient, with the airport just a couple of kms. away and the railways station even closer. 


Best of all, the Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhavan Palace  areeasily accessible from there. In fact, the views from some of the room windows are of these historic places.

The air-conditioned rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The linen and upholstery are clean, as is the washroom.

 Facilities in the room include an electric tea kettle and a refrigerator.

Even a door handle was unusual!

A big plus point is the find dining restaurant named Sarangi, located on the ground floor of the hotel. The restaurant serves vegetarian food. The food is cooked well and tasty. You can enjoy a wholesome, good meal. On one day we had really delicious seviyan for breakfast.

What's mentioned in the title of this post are three of the items on the menu which you should not miss out on, when dining at Café Trofima restaurant in Mumbai city. When it opened a year ago, the restaurant had a menu which was limited for vegetarians and was predominantly non-vegetarian food. On our second visit today, we were happy to see a much improved menu, both in terms of the menu layout itself (previously it was just a large sheet of thick paper, much like a large pamphlet, frayed at the edges. Now it is a cheery orange and blue one on the inside, albeit a dull brown outside though. There are more options for vegetarians as well. It goes without saying that, a year on, the prices have shot up too!!
