Gran Vía Capital Service Apartment Madrid review

Looking for a comfortable service apartment with free Wi-Fi in the center of Madrid? Gran Vía Capital is the place to stay! It feels like living in a 5-star luxury hotel room and is conveniently located with plenty of parking space too if you are having your own vehicle. 

You can opt for apartments with one, two or three bedrooms and ones with a terrace too. Two-level duplex apartments of three or four bedrooms with a furnished terrace are also available.


The apartment
Our stay was in a 2 bedroom apartment. As per the number of people you have in your group, you can give your preferences (refer to additional information provided later in this post).

While booking via Hotels.com we gave the preference of: 1 double, 2 single and 1 sofa bed apartment for 4 adults. We stayed for 3 nights here in August 2016.

The windows overlook the Gran Vía street, which is a busy hub of the city of Madrid, lined with shopping and dining establishments (see images on the left side). However, the apartment is sound proof so no chance of a noisy stay! 





The first thing that impressed us right away was the natural light streaming in through the large windows (there are curtains if you wish to have total privacy), combining beautifully with the lovely colours of the decor and furnishings.

The apartment incorporates a flat screen TV with international channels, a phone to make national and international calls, a safety box to keep your possessions secure, a sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchen. 

A thoughtful aspect was the the different levels of the 3 tables (see image below) which took into consideration the level of your seating - on the sofa, or chair of side seat. 

The kitchen area, which was at the side of the main living room, was equipped with a kettle, an oven, a microwave, a fridge and a toaster. You can have a quick breakfast seated at the kitchen area or have a leisurely meal at the dining table across, which forms part of the main living room.

Amenities include bed linen, towels and bathroom amenities. The washroom had a separate shower area.

The best of the best
Well lit, beautifully furnished with lovely hues and very immaculate with a great location, the Gran Vía Capital Service Apartment Madrid was hands down the best of the lot of service apartments we stayed in during our tour of Europe.

Apartment Facilities

• Parking across 9 levels, with a fee of just EUR30.00 per day. Note that the on-site parking facility is for cars only and it is a good idea to let them know on booking your apartment that you would be using the parking facility.
• Outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi on the 13th floor - this is as per seasonal availability
• Gym and sauna, with personal trainers if required.

Additional information
1. The entire property is a smoke-free zone.
2. You can make special requests at the time of booking, these requests being subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
3. Cash is accepted as payment only for onsite purchases, including incidentals.
4. It is mandatory to provide Government-issued photo identification and a cash deposit at check-in for incidental charges.

Gran Vía Capital Service Apartment Tariff
We got a special discounted rate and hence it was non-refundable for any changes or cancellation. Our 3-nights stay cost A$276.84 per night, with A$83.04 towards taxes and fees for the 3 nights, so the total was A$913.56.

The nearest airport is Madrid, which goes by the name of Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. The Gran Vía Capital Service Apartment is located at a distance of approximately 12.8km. from the airport. While booking you can request for a pick up from the airport (charges maybe incurred for this). You can also request for a map with route directions.
